YOU MUST WATCH THIS..such a sweet story

Brock at a day old....We are SOOOO grateful to have him alive, and well.
Brock born 2.6 pounds and 13 1/2 inches long

Oh my heck this is the most heart warming thing you may ever watch.

Today I was watching Oprah and she did a story about this family. I cried through out the whole thing. Two months before their baby was born they found out he had some rare thing and didn't even know if he would make it to birth, so he's father started writing him letters. Watch and listen to their dear story. For me this we especially overwhelming to watch. Here is a family who did everything to make sure their baby was born, and loved him no matter what, even if the overall outcome was not what you would think.

Having had two very high risk pregnancies, especially with Brock, him being born so early and so small, my heart reached out to them. I remember with Brock going everyday and sitting in the NICU by his bed for 12 or more hours a day, and only taking a break when the NICU was closed for shift change. When Brock finally came home after little over 2 months in the NICU then home on an heart monitor and oxygen for another 6 months, it didn't matter to us, Brock was alive and home, we loved him tubes and all.

When Brock was 1 1/2 years old we almost lost him. Watching this video of this couple took me back to that time when the doctors thought Brock would die, and what a devastating time that was for us. This couple have pushed through such a hard time, watching them on Oprah makes you want to STOP what you are doing and tell your kids you love them. You just never know what each day brings.

Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum

I wasn't able to post these pictures at the time due to computer being SOL. Here you all go, and sorry about the picture overload, I have no clue how to do a slide show.

In August the boys and I headed down to Utah county to meet my grandma at Thanksgiving Point to check out the dinosaur museum. Boys had a blast, we ended up there for over 4 hours.

For some reason some of these pictures of the kids turned out funny and they look strange in the pictures. I think it was the lighting in the museum.. That first picture of Brock makes him look really strange.

Brock and Zack in cave

Brock and grandma Kaye under T-REX
Me taking a picture through the mirror
Boys waiting on big rock outside of museum
Zack running through cave
Brock hiding in cave

Brock sitting on T-REX foot
Zack sitting on T-REX foot
There was this really cool sand water thing the kids could play in,kids had a blast
Zack wasn't to sure about the baby dinosaur
Boys getting weighed on dinosaur scale
At the end part of the museum, there was an area where kids could dig for fossils
Notice Zack has two brushes, he has to have two of everything, one for each hand.
Shark bait
Thanks grandma for taking us, we had so much fun, and such a blast going with you.

Mr. Funny Guy

Brock always seems to be making this face, especially when you ask him a question. My Funny Guy!
The boys and I were in the car on Tuesday headed to Kaysville too TJ's parents house. On the way down this is the conversation I had with Mr.Brock.... I laughed so hard I think I may have peed my pants just a little.

Brock: hey mom

Mom: what son

Brock: um, um, um

Mom: yes honey

Brock: um mom, I want to tell you something

Mom: okay, what?

Brock: um mom, you are?

Mom: I am what Brock

Brock: well mom, you are the BUTTER in my PEANUT BUTTER.

Mom: laugh, laugh, laugh out of control. Um Brock where did you learn that?

Brock: I learned it from myself mom... laugh from Brock, the kind of laugh where you know your child is thinking your stupid.
I sure love this boy, and when he says funny things like that I love him even more.

CONGRATS.. Arrival of baby Avery

I had to post and say CONGRATS, to my most wonderful and great friend Sarah and her husband, on the arrival of their new baby girl Avery. She is gorgeous and so sweet. I am so trilled for them. Avery arrived on Friday the 17Th, when she wasn't due until the 26Th, she was ready to enter the world, and couldn't wait any longer.
Funny story: on Thursday Sarah and her oldest Trey came over for a little while, Brock asked Sarah about the baby in her bell and was told she was coming out soon. I had told Brock that on Friday we would go to Sarah's house to play, and help her if need be. So when on Friday morning I get a call from Sarah's sister saying the baby was coming.

Brock's response:
Me: Guess what Brock Sarah is having the baby right now so we wont be able to go over to her house.
Brock: we are going to help Sarah get the baby out?
Me: laugh laugh laugh, No Sarah is at the hospital where the doctors are helping her.
Brock: Oh? so she is coming over to our house to have the baby?
Me: laugh laugh laugh, no.
Brock: then how are we going to help her get the baby out?

Brock was so worried about her, and how baby was going to get out if we weren't there to help her. Somewhere in Brock's thinking, he thought that by going over to Sarah's meant that were going to help her get the baby out...lol.. Oh the mind of a 3 year old.

Funny boy

I was going threw my pictures, and had to post these. These were taken back in July, but couldn't post them, because my computer was broken at the time.
At the time this was Zack's favorite thing to do. As you can see Brock was upset that he couldn't get the the drawer like Zack did.

Yes, Brock was that upset about the whole thing, also it was close to nap time, and this is how upset he gets before nap time.

Fire Station

The other night the fire station we live by was having an open house for fire safety week. My boys are so in love with firetrucks, so it was a perfect opportunity for them.
All the kids got a ride on the firetruck, except for Brock who chickened out. Which blows me away cause all day long all he could talk about is him getting to ride on a firetruck after he took his nap. Once it came time for our turn, he didn't want to go.

Zack had no fear and was excited for his turn on the firetruck.
Zack, Jacee, Kayden, Nick, and Tarra all took a ride on the firetruck. Tracie, and I along with Brock stood on the sidelines watched and took pictures.
Brock thought this was great, being able to spray the fire hose. Notice Jacee in the back just waiting patiently. (side note- notice the cute top she is wearing, umm I bought that for her)
Tarra holding her baby Braxton, Jacee, Brock, and John.
Brock and Zack hanging out by the Ambulance.
It was so much fun, minus it got so cold, and Zack got sick from being out in the cold, but over all it was great fun, and even a better time going with our great neighbors.

What the RASH.

Here are the pictures of Zack when he had he allergic reaction to the medication he was taking for his ear infection. This is when he was over the worst part of it, you should have seen how bad it was when he first became allergic. If you look close you can see that it's all over everywhere, even in his ear, and hair. POOR LITTLE MAN!

He would pinch his skin, I think that was his way of trying to scratch the rash. We now know to NEVER let him take that medication again.

I get home from being gone for 6 days when TJ tells me he was so excited he did ALL the laundry. My heart dropped, I asked if he meant ALL laundry, even in the white basket, well make a long story short, he ended up shrinking ALL my new stuff I had just bought. Really shrunk it.

Tubes...and...Teeth

My computer is being stupid again so I am using my dads computer AGAIN. That's why I haven't been able to comment on any one's blog.

Zack got his tubes done Monday and he did great. Night before was another thing. Zack couldn't have anything to eat past midnight, so I stayed up to make sure he ate before midnight, like at 11:30 I was up shoving food down his throat so that he wouldn't be hungry later. Oh if it was only that easy, WRONG, poor thing got so hungry in the middle of the night, so we stayed up and played and did whatever we could to take his mind off of wanting to eat, and thank goodness he still likes binky, that helped keep him from getting to hungry.
Zack and I had to be checked in at Ogden Regional at 6:00 a.m. which was great cause I thought he would get in at 6:00 a.m, little did I know that he wasn't even scheduled until 7:30 a.m, even being the first person that day, they don't even start until 7:30 a.m. Even Zack at that point was starving, he did really well until the last 10 minutes. It was sad when the doctor took him off to get tubes in, but he still did really well. When Zack finally came out of it more, he was funny, the first thing he wanted was his fishies, and kept asking mommy for his fishies.
I sure wish that we had got tubes in sooner, Zack did GREAT and is such a happier boy. Best thing is that Zack is sleeping threw the night, and just over all can see a difference in the way he acts. The doctor said Zack should be just great and will feel 100 times better now having tubes in. Doctor did have to cut a little bigger in one ear so that he could drain his ear, he ended up having more fluid in there then the doctor was expecting.
Zack is so funny, now that I have put ear plugs in for his bath, he just yells as loud as he can, and just laughs at himself. I guess he he thinks it's funny to scream and hear himself scream with ear plugs in. (maybe I should get it on video-and post it)

Brock got his teeth done on Wednesday. He did really good. I was a semi bad mother, WHY?, well because when Brock got his anesthetic shot in his arm and started to go out of it, he was so funny and kept saying the funniest things to me, I COULDN'T STOP laughing. Brock ended up having to have all front teeth removed, all due to that one abscess tooth. The funniest thing was when Brock started to come out of it, the first thing he said was "hey mom, we done? let's go Caffe Rio", I laughed so hard. Brock looks so cute without his teeth. Brock was really out of it for most the day, and the pain was manageable until about 8:30 that night when all pain med wore off, it ended up being a long couple hours after that. Today Brock is doing great, and is able to eat pretty much anything, minus the use of his front teeth.
