When it rains it pours

As the saying goes when it rains it pours, and let me tell you that I just laugh, because this is so true when it comes to our family. It all started about two weeks ago when out of the blue Zack just started throwing up and didn't stop for two days. Then of course brother followed the next night.

AND THEN!

Zack last week got another ear infection, so he is getting tubes in on Monday. I am excited to get this done, so hopefully we don't have to deal with anymore ear infections. Since January Zack has had 6 ear infections and 4 or 5 at least starting of an ear infection. The other day when we went the specialist said he didn't think Zack's ears has ever healed since getting the first ear infection, maybe even as far back as from when he was a baby. When he checked his ear he was surprised to see that even after Zack being on antibiocits for 4 days that he still had fluid and swelling behind the ear.

Then Brock- on the way to Macy's Thursday Brock was complaining that his finger hurt, but I thought he was just playing around, but by the time we got there he was crying real tears that it really hurt. I look to see this THING on his finger. It was so gross, I could move the fluid around in his finger. 30 minutes later we're at his doctor draining his finger. Less then 24 hours later doctors office called to say his finger was positive for some kind of infection. GROSS, NASTY, UGH!-for a germ freak like myself I was mortified that this happened, AND WHERE DID HE GET THIS. I spent the next few hours cleaning everything with Clorox.
Then came Sunday morning, when I was helping him brush his teeth I noticed that there was a THING in his mouth, and what do I find but a massive THING above his right canine tooth. So I call the on call dentist and was told since he was on the meds already for his finger that he should be okay until morning.

IF IT WAS ONLY THAT EASY!..lol..

Since we no longer carried insurance with the pediatric-dentist he had before that we LOVED, we had to find someone else, and since I didn't want to pay this high co-pay to see the old dentist, I decided to find someone else to take a quick look at his tooth...BIG MISTAKE... it ended up being the worst time ever. This dude told me that I couldn't hold his hand, that he was in charge because he was the dentist and I was just the mom... #%$#*&*@!@# is what I thought. Then when he decided to do surgery on his mouth he told me that they don't put them under -WHAT- this whole time Brock is so freaked out by him that he is crying and screaming to get away from this dude- while the dentist just made it worse. Then the real kicker is he told me they sometime have to HOLD DOWN the younger patients...WHAT.... $#!%#%$## again is what I thought. I sat there thinking what an insensitive!#$% ##$##@#*, I couldn't believe it. So after leaving Brock asked if we had to go back there again, I asked why, he said " that man was mean, I don't think I want to go back". I was sick. How could I take him back there, so after a few hours and a recommendation to try someone that is a pediatric-dentist.
Today we went to the most wonderful dentist EVER EVER EVER. He and all his staff made Brock so comfortable, gave Brock time to get use to the whole thing. Wednesday Brock will be put out and have some work done to remove the THING in his mouth, remove maybe another tooth, get some x-rays and clean his teeth, dentist said if he's already out will wait then and clean his teeth since he has already had such a bad experience with a dentist.

AND THEN!

Today TJ dropped Zack off at the neighbors to play while I took Brock to the dentist. I was gone maybe 2 hours. I get home and start changed Zack, to find him COVERED from head to toe in something. After freaking out and yet again called the doctor, we find out that he has had an allergic reaction well they think to the antibiotic he was on for his ear infection. If the rash doesn't heal by tomorrow then he has had a different reaction to it called Eryetheame Multiform ( I totally spelled that wrong, but I don't have paper right here) any who, well I guess you become allergic to whatever infection you had in your system, like an ear infection. This reaction will cause welt like rash ALL OVER, and i mean ALL OVER. It's in his hair, ears, mouth, on his eyes, outside, behind ears, all over neck, face, back, chest, arms, pits, knees, backside of knees, and everywhere else you can imagine. Since he is having tubes on Monday they aren't to worried about the infection because once he gets tubes in his ears it should heal, and all infection welts SHOULD be gone. I will post pictures soon. It's pretty sad, but then again it's funny because we wouldn't be the Olsen's if something like this didn't happen.
So it's true, when it rains it does more then just pour...lol.

That is so sad about your little boys and all the stuff they have gone through. I am so sorry I hope everything goes good for them coming up (the ears and the teeth).

wow. that is so sad that you had to go to such a mean dentist. it really does pour when it comes to your family. your boys are troopers... and look at you... i don't know how you do it all. thanks for your comments. i am just amazed at how well you take care of everything for your family. you guys have been through so much. it's like someone said earlier, good thing you're strong. it makes me feel kind of lame for worrying so much about this one little thing for maddie. hope everything goes well for you and Zack on monday!

Hey, brinley had that rash that Zachary has. Hers even got to the point of looking like large hives all over. Her doctor called it like viral xantham or something. BUt it means that they are allergic to the infection they have and brinley's took like 3 weeks to totally heal. oh, and she had an episode of HIGH fevers with it. Not good. I feel your pain.
